Data Backup & Recovery
How may times have you deleted a file only to realize you have just deleted the wrong file?
With a sigh of relief you go to your rubbish bin and restore the file back to its original place, but what if you have cleaned out your rubbish bin?
Your not alone!, at some stage everyone has done it.
Amagosa Computer Services can help you with our data backup and recovery services.
Today's hard drives are exceeding the one terabyte capacity, which means that enormous amounts of data can be stored. That's fine while your computer is running without any problems.
A cascading failure of your computer, whether hardware or software related, can lead to, not just the loss of one file but many or the entire volume.
So back it up. But how do you do this?, cd's or dvd's just will not cut it, optical media storage has not got the capacity that you may need.
Amagosa Computer Services can offer hardware and software solutions for this.
We also offer tutoring for strategies which make you pro active in the protection of your data.
Products such as software for smaller backups, which might include only your documents to hardware like external hard drives to plug in to your computer and perform backups through to combinations of hardware and software as in, network attached storage devices.
We can build a network attached storage device to suit your needs and budget whether you are a home user or a small business.
But you don't have a backup and you have deleted that file from the rubbish bin.
STOP!, chances are that file can be recovered.
You should shutdown your computer to minimise more data loss and contact us to recover that lost file now.
So what has happened?, most computer people might not like us telling you, but we are here to inform you and educate you.
Part of the function of your operating system is to keep track of all the files stored on your hard drives, it does this by indexing every file to a table much like the index or content pages of a book.
This table of indexes allows your computer to know where to look on the hard drives when you call for a program or a file.
When you delete a file from your computer, it doesn't actually get deleted, only the index in the table pointing to where it is located on your hard drive does, in essence your computer forgets where it was stored.
If you continue to use your computer after this the chance is a new file or program will be stored here, overwriting the so called deleted file, adding a new index to the table previously occupied by your deleted file.
When this happens your chance of a successful recovery are dramatically reduced or not at all.
Our recovery services are called for in extreme cases but are not limited to this and charges do apply.
Amagosa Computer Services also has cloning services available for hard drives.
