Helpful tips when registering a domain name.

• The only characters allowed are letters, digits and a hyphen (-)
• Spaces are not allowed.
• The name should be between 3 and 63 characters long. (Shorter the domain the better).
• www. is not actually part of the domain name.
• You can buy as many domain names as you wish.
• Domain names are NOT cAsE sEnSiTiVe - so abc.com.au is just the same as ABC.com.au.

Rules that apply to Australian Domain Names.

.com.au/.net.au

To own either a .com.au or .net.au you must be an Australian registered company or business with a registered business number (ABN, BRN, BN).
The domain name you order should have a solid relationship to the business it represents.

.org.au/.asn.au

To qualify for these domains your organisation must be a "non-commercial organisation".
The domain name you register should have a solid relationship to the organisation to which it represents.

.id.au

Especially designed for individuals, who reside in Australia.
You may register ANY personal name by which you are known.
